Trip down mem­ory lane

Ninety peo­ple at­tended the re­cent Down Mem­ory Lane re­union.

It was the 15th time the re­union event has been held.

Those at­tend­ing en­joyed catch­ing up with old friends and ac­quain­tances, with an­other35 peo­ple un­able to at­tend.

The re­union of peo­ple who have either grown up or lived in War­ragul was started by Mau­reen Bannan in 2003, but due to ill-health, she has been un­able to at­tend for some years.

Many trav­elled long dis­tances to at­tend, some from as far away as Queens­land and Tas­ma­nia.

The event, held in Pak­en­ham, has be­come an an­nual event for many peo­ple, with lots of mem­o­ries be­ing swapped dur­ing the course of the day.

Don Cum­ming thanked ev­ery­one for com­ing, and re­counted a cou­ple of hi­lar­i­ous sto­ries of his past.

He also thanked Jan Parkin­son for or­gan­is­ing the event.

Jan thanked War­ragul Gazette pro­pri­etor Brian Hop­kins for pro­mot­ing the event.
