Magpies swoop Eagles

Poowong got going after a goalless first quarter at Ellinbank to hold off its opposition and win 5-10 (40) to 3-4 (22).

Hayden Wallis, Joel Darts, Noah Peacock, Ryan Knight, Reide Macqueen and Tane Derrick helped the Magpies maintain the advantage.

For the Eagles it was Corey Garlick, Ryan Atherton, Matthew Dare, Lewis Kennedy, Jake Dean and Sam Pratt keeping them in the contest.

Blues kick clear

Catani comfortabl­y accounted for Neerim-Neerim South in the make up game.

The Blues kicked five goals to one in the first term and were never headed on the way to winning 16-10 (106) to 5-7 (37).

Geordie Wells kicked five goals for the Blues, while Liam Moyle chipped in with four majors. Josh Chamberlai­n, Josh Seppings, Cooper Silver and Josh Grogan also featured in the best players.

Dusties too strong

Warragul Industrial­s comfortabl­y accounted for Buln Buln, 1415 (99) to 1-4 (10).

The Lyrebirds were competitiv­e early, but the home side proved too strong.

Aiden Keady led the scoring with three majors, with Darcy Whelan, Oliver Marek, Brayden Hefford, Nathan Mazza and Xavier Ford also influentia­l for the home side.
