Skatepark party for youth week

Youth week celebrations will turn to a Party in the Park in Warragul on Thursday afternoon.

The event, targeted at young people aged between 15 to 24-years-old, will be held at the Warragul Skate Park and will feature a range of activities.

The event will be held between 3pm and 7pm.

Youths will have the opportunity to compete in skate, scooter, or BMX competitions with many free giveaways and prizes to be won.

Heat time are: scooter 3:45pm (14 and under, 15 and over) BMX 5pm (14 and under, 15 an over) skate 6pm (12 and under, 16 and under, open male, open female).

Other activities include street art, live music and a band competition, free barbecue, pancakes and football and netball activities.

A number of youth agencies also will be available.

The event is being staged by a number of organisations including local police, Baw Baw Shire, Headspace, YMCA, Warragul Lions Club and other youth agencies and skate and scooter organisations.
