GULLS UNBEATEN IN RESERVES ALSO

-

Warragul reserves haven’t enjoyed too many good days at Wonthaggi in recent years but they turned that around on Saturday.

Two wins on the trot have Warragul in second place on the ladder trailing Maffra on percentage.

The Gulls won well against Power controlling the match from the start despite strong wind and some of the day’s heaviest downpours. Final scores were 9-8 to 2-7. A couple of the experienced Warragul heads, Leigh Sheehan and Nic Edney, led the way.

Scott Kelly, Michael Lynn, Sam Whibley and Josh Fairfull were others among the best in a solid team performance.

Kelly, Edney, Jamie Somers and Hayden Lawson-Pepper each kicked two goals and Tim Davine got the other one.

Next Saturday at Western Park presents a great opportiuntiy for the Gulls to really push their top “five” credentials, taking on Moe that is also unbeaten after two rounds.
