Call for sealing of Stuhrs Rd

Warragul & Drouin Gazette - - NEWS -

A petition presented to Baw Baw Shire has called for a 760 metre section of Stuhrs Rd at Darnum to be sealed.

The petition, signed by eight people, asked council to review its road sealing schedule and prioritise sealing the eastern end of Stuhrs Rd.

The petition said the unsealed section was about 760 metres long.

Cr Peter Kostos presented the petition to council last week.

Cr Kostos said of the property owners fronting Stuhrs Rd, three residents had been diagnosed with asthma and another four had presented with asthma symptoms. He said these symptoms had increased over recent months with the dry and dusty road conditions.

Cr Kostos said cost sharing was an option for this project. Officers will prepare a report to be presented to council within six weeks.
