Quilt show hailed a success

-

Organiser Henny Blair is still on a high after a successful “William Morris” Quilt Show and Display in Warragul on Saturday.

Mrs Blair said the display attracted 175 people and raised $1542. Lifestyle Warragul will match the total dollar for dollar, resulting in just over $3000 being donated for oesophageal cancer.

“It was a lot of hard work, but it was a great atmosphere and had a lot of interest,” she said. “It was a really good day.”

Mrs Blair said the showcase of more than 50 quilts was the highlight, with many noting the high standard of workmanship. William Morris collectables were also on display.

The quilt show and display was a fundraiser for oesophageal cancer of which Henny’s husband died nine years ago.

“It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do,” said Mrs Blair, adding it would be a one-off event.
