Have your say on Brooker Park

-

A drop-in session for community members to review and provide feedback on a draft master plan for Warragul’s Brooker Park will be held on Saturday, April 21.

Baw Baw Shire Council’s draft master plan captures the community’s vision for the park’s future management as well as identifying potential open space upgrades such as plantings, access and park infrastructure.

Council officers will host the drop-in information session at Brooker Park between 8.30am and 12.30pm.

Baw Baw Shire mayor Joe Gauci said the first round of consultation held in October 2017 returned 123 submissions of valuable feedback and recommendations which have helped shape the draft document.

“During the initial consultation we heard strong support for maintaining the park’s spacious character, enhancing environmental quality and increased provision of passive recreation in Warragul’s broader open space network,” said Cr Gauci.

“This time around we are particularly keen to understand what the community’s priorities are for the park so we can be confident that the overall vision is captured for this beautiful space.

“Open spaces are significant to our shire’s liveability and help contribute to our community’s health and wellbeing. Brooker Park is an important and much-loved community asset, and we encourage anyone interested in the park to review the draft master plan and have their say.”

In addition to the drop-in session, community members can review a copy of the draft master plan and provide feedback online by visiting the “Have Your Say” page on council’s website.

This second phase of this consultation will close on Friday, May 11 at 5pm.

The responses received will be considered in the development of the final master plan. This plan will be presented to council for adoption in June.
