Art captures ancient Japan

-

Gain an insight of the elusive Japanese ancient culture at Adam Price’s exhibition “A Vanishing Japan”.

The exhibition is a collection of drawings, paintings, prints and sculptures documenting Adam’s observations of travelling Japan.

It is currently open at Red Tree Gallery in Jindivick.

Adam first encountered Japan over 10 years ago and began sketching the myriad faces of everyday people on the subways of Nagoya.

He quickly developed a fascination of its culture and people, returning whenever possible to catch trains to nowhere whilst exploring and drawing the less trodden paths, small towns, temples and forgotten wilderness.

His latest trip consisted of four months travelling by motorcycle and camping through Southern Japan; drawing, photographing and painting the landscapes and people he encountered.

Red Tree Gallery is located at 420 Main Jindivick Road, Jindivick with exhibition “A Vanishing Japan” open throughout April.
