Saturday was the Anthony Bambridge 4bbb stableford played in ordinary conditions.

That didn’t stop some great scoring coming in with Jim Bordanora and Shane McKiernan the best of them with a fantastic 51 points.

DTL: Shane Gorman and Phil Mason 47, Paul Hutchins and Peter Dumesny 45, Danny Gorman and Frank Clebney 43.

Wednesday was a stableford event, and although it was just two days after the greens had been renovated, it did nothing to stop the great scores.

Kevin O’Brien took out A grade with 39 points. B grade winner was the consistent Alan Craig with 40, while C grade was won by Richard Snare, who has been making quite a habit of winning recently, with 40.

Women

Tuesday last was a stableford event with prizes donated by the club.

The winner of A grade was Di Baskett with 36 points and runner up with Judy Dixon with 35 points.

The B grade winner was Jan Stone with 38 points and runner up was Helen Andreasen 36 points.

Down the line balls went to Pat Alexander, Olive Reid, Robyn O’Brien and Megan Ford. Judy Dixon picked up the pro pin.

Today will be stableford event with prizes donated by Kay Feaver and Leanne Pollard. Leanne also supports the grandmothe­r’s trophy to eligible contestant­s.

The club reminds members that tournament entry forms are now out. Ladies day will be held on Tuesday, April 24.

Seniors

It was a mixed weather pattern for the Drouin Golf Seniors nine-hole event last Thursday.

The winner in the women’s division was Robyn O’Brien with 18 points. The runners up were Helen Andreasen and Dagmar Forbes with 17 points, followed by Pat Alexander, Lorna Hoskins, Audrey Smethurst and Marion Devlin all on 15 points.

In the men’s division the winner was Peter Downward with 20 points.

The runner up was Kevin O’Brien with 19 points, followed by Rolf Loebert with 18 points. Then came Graham Moon, Brian Courtney, and Phil Edwards with 17 points, and Richie Thomas, Jim DeFoe, Con Norris, Ron Tomasetti and Gilbert Davis each with 16 points. Ben Unstead/Belinda Best 73.5.

Qualifiers for the George Lowe were: DeanBubeck/Jill Little, Troy Fitzsimmon­s/Jo De Jong, David Boyd/Anna Boyd, John Williams/Kerri Ahearn.

Midweek

Tuesday’s event was a stableford with some amazing scores returned with Ken Kitchen and Brian Kleehammer recording plus 10.

This was followed by a hole in one from Jeff Tellefson on the 15th as well as an eagle on the 12th from Kirk Dalziell.. Results: Field size 104. A grade: John Pecovnik +5, Graeme Jarvis +5, Chris Morris +4.

B grade: Brian Kleehammer +10, Brad Norton +8, John Maher +7.

C grade: Ken Kitchen +10, Nick Solohub +5, Russell Elliott +5.

Over 55 social group

There were 24 players for Monday last ( April 9) over 55s social golf group.

The women’s winner was Marie Veitch 19 points (countback).

DTL: Evelyn Christie 19, Wilma Henshall 18 points.

The men’s winner was Peter Henshall 23 points.

DTL: Alan Lowe 21, Max Younger, Eric Barrass, Kevin O’Brien 20 points.
