Hockey season enters 40th year
West Gippsland Hockey Association is fired up for their first weekend of fixtured matches at synthetic turf at Bellbird Park, Drouin on Saturday.
This will be the 40th anniversary of the first matches of the West Gippsland Hockey Association. The WGHA will celebrate this milestone during round four of the 2018 season on Saturday May 12.
The 2018 season has 15 rounds, culminating in grand finals to be played in September.
The WGHA welcomes new players. Men and women, boys and girls play on Saturdays.
The benefits of hockey include staying fit and but also the feeling of being part of a team and feeling welcomed.
Younger players can get involved with under eight and under 10 teams which play on Friday nights.
