Masquerade Ball to improve hall

-

Mystery and intrigue will abound at the inaugural Jindivick Masquerade Ball on Saturday night.

Dress to impress by raiding your wardrobe or op shops, with mask prizes on offer. Live music, raffles, games and the billiard room will add to the fun.

The Jindivick Mechanics Institute are hosting the Masquerade Ball to raise much-needed funds to redress the hall’s stage curtains which have fallen into disrepair. New curtains will enable the hall to be used to its fullest potential as a small stage show venue and revisit the ambience of past dances and local gatherings.

The Jindivick Primary School uses the hall for productions and West Gippsland Art Centre has used it for past performances and expressed an interest in continuing to do so.

Laurie Collins from Red Tree Gallery has generously created one-of-a-kind mask sculptures to raise curtain funds. Raffle tickets can be purchased from Red Tree Gallery, Gary Miles’ Bradley Hall Fine Art Gallery and The Jindi Caf’, with two tickets for $5.

At the ball, “Two Shades” will provide music from the 1940s to now and the billiard room will be operational with Kelly pool and other billiard games. It will be an opportunity to use the historic competition size billiard table that has recently been refurbished in a salute to yesteryear.

Prizes for masks in various categories will offer excitement. Outfits can be formal – ballgowns and suits; or fun – characters, creatures and superheroes.

Alcohol can be purchased from Jindivick Cricket Club who is raising their own club funds. Limited edition cocktails have been created for the event. No BYO.

The Masquerade Ball will run from 7pm to midnight at the hall located at 1065 Jacksons Track, Jindivick.

Tickets are $35 for adults or $25 for children (aged 13 and under).

Tickets can be obtained through the Jindivick Masquerade Ball’s Facebook page. For further information, call 0490 197 261 or email jindievents@gmail.com.
