Escape the cold with Baw Baw Arts Alliance running free artist demonstrations, exhibitions and other art events in Yarragon and Trafalgar this winter.

Wendy Russell is currently holding an exhibition of paintings and Nola Clarke an exhibition of scratchboard works at Station Gallery in Yarragon. Wendy and Nola will hold free demonstration on Sunday, with Wendy sharing techniques from 10.30am followed by Nola at 2pm.

With school holidays fast approaching, BBAA again has fun workshops planned for children at Trafalgar Railway Station in “Artspace Two”.

There will be two sessions on Monday, July 9 one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Jessie McLennan, an experienced art teacher, always has a wide range of wonderful activities from painting to construction work, and lots of other exciting things in between.

Not to be missed during July is the work of felter Cheryl Cook at Station Gallery, Yarragon. Cheryl works with fibre that she dyes, stitches and paints, thus producing artworks that make their own unique statements.

Her exhibition, aptly titled “An Unconventional Journey…From the Beat of the City to the Heart of our World”, is one of experimental art requiring large wall spaces for the heavily textured pieces.

It will be open from Wednesday, July 4 to Sunday, July 29, with a free demonstration on felting techniques to be held on Sunday, July 29 at 2pm.

Pastel artist Angela Grant will also have a number of works on show during July.
