Warragul & Drouin Gazette

Lot at stake in next round

-

Two games next weekend present tantalising scenarios for what the top five may look like at the end of the home and away rounds.

Moe (4th) versus Warragul (6th) and Sale (3rd) versus Traralgon (5th) throw up a range of possibilities.

If Warragul can topple Moe it might move level with Traralgon.

That is if Traralgon loses at Sale.

If Moe and Traralgon both win Moe can move to level with Sale and a possible finals’ double chance.

Moe was far too good and ended Warragul’s winning start to the season when they clashed at Warragul in round three winning by almost 10 goals.

Warragul’s last two games have been good but Moe’s in good form, too.

The Lions win against Sale last Saturday showed it can well and truly mix it with the best.

Drouin will be at home to Bairnsdale and will be keen for win number two.

Bairnsdale hasn’t won on the road this year and Saturday will be its second successive week of travel and on the back of a disappointing showing at Morwell.

Despite its longest trip for the season, to Wonthaggi, Maffra should get the points and Leongatha will be favoured to win at Morwell although the Tigers have improved a lot over the past five or six rounds.

Saturday’s matches at grounds of first named clubs are:Morwell Leongatha. Drouin v. Bairnsdale. Moe v. Warragul. Wonthaggi v. Maffra. Sale v. Traralgon. v.
