Saints break through

Nyora broke through for a rare victory in the Reserves, defeating a struggling NeerimNeer­im South 6-15 (51) to 6-8 (44).

While its senior side have tasted success on each and every occasion this season, the reserves team had only sang the song on one occasion.

Entering the match with high hopes, the Saints were competitiv­e as the lead changed regularly throughout the first half.

A one-point quarter time deficit was turned into a one-point lead at half time and trailing by just four points at the final change, the Saints were still in it.

With seven behinds for the final term, the Saints were catching up the hard way with the only goal of the final term securing victory.

Robert Provan, Nicholas Male, Tomas Mayo, Ben Lineham, Matt Layton and Sam Collis led the way to see the Saints over the line.

Jack Erickson, Jayden Bell, Luke O’Donoghue, Heat Strating, David McCrohan and Steven Heath gave it every chance for the Cats.

Warragul Industrial­s were comfortabl­e victor over Buln Buln, 99 (63) to 2-5 (17).

The Crows kicked out to a 77point half time lead, having kept the Bombers scoreless.
