50 years of putting customers first

The external black-and-white paint job was inspired by the humble Holstein Friesian cow – the perfect homage to the surrounding farmland. The delightful Hannah has been on board since day one and has greeted hundreds of coffee connoisseurs and foodies daily, rain or shine.

A recent barrage of MG owners discovered the Fat Cow café via a phone app. They were on a club tour, travelling around Australia, and called in for sustenance. The distinctive shipping container and its inflatable Holstein Friesian mascot faithfully relocate to Farm World annually to support the café-culture of the exhibitors and patrons.

Anthony and Eva worked methodically to improve all facets of the business: set a goal, reach it and re-set and keep striving for the best.

This mindset proved successful, with Alto Motors being awarded 2016 runner-up for ‘VACC Industry in Agriculture’ and taking firstplace honours in the 2016 Baw Baw Shire ‘Award for Business Excellence in Agribusiness’.

The decision to partner with Kioti was a win for both Alto and Kioti. Alto Motors was Kioti’s second-highest National Dealer in 2016/17 but the team at Alto saw room for improvement.

Not content with second place, Alto worked hard to become Kioti’s number one National Dealer in 2017/18. Kioti invited Anthony to Korea, where he was personally presented with a trophy in recognition of outstanding achievement. Numero uno for Alto.

Elio and Yvonne and Flavio and Angiolina understood the importance of supporting the local community that contributed to the success of their business. Anthony and Eva have continued the tradition by supporting various local clubs and organisations.

Over the years, many local school students have chosen Alto Motors as their work-experience employer and Alto Motors has helped twenty apprentices to complete their apprenticeship training and reach full qualification.

Anthony and Eva have ensured that the technicians at Alto Motors are kept up-to-date across all areas of training, from tractors and mowers to high-pressure cleaners. Alto Motors is Gippsland’s only repairer of Karcher, both domestic and commercial. Product knowledge and training is imperative at a local level, and when exhibiting at agricultural field days and Farm World.

Anthony and Eva had a surprise in store for patrons at Farm World 2018, where they set up a giant perspex ‘Cash Cube’. They called it Alto’s Money Box. The Alto staff had created pseudo-notes ranging from $10 to $100 – each note decorated with Anthony’s face. They invited patrons to wander into Alto’s Money Box, turned on the fan and let loose with a windstorm of fake cash. The quicker the reflexes, the better the result.

A legitimate amount equivalent to the fistful of fake notes was slashed from the price of the item purchased.
