Close games in badminton

Ellinbank Gold and Warragul Red played out a close night in C grade of Mid Gippsland junior badminton.

Match three of the doubles went to three sets, ending with a win for Warragul Red while Ellinbank Gold won the first two.

Then in the singles the tables turned with Warragul Red winning two out of the three games, leaving the overall score up to points with Ellinbank Gold just winning by with 200 points to 170.

The game of the week was played out also in C grade in a stressful doubles match between Tim Finlay, Helena Woollett [Warragul Blue] and Zarkara Smith and Brianna Gavory [Drouin Maroon].

Their game went to three heated sets with Drouin Maroon winning the first and third sets, while Warragul Blue won the second set leaving the score incredibly close at 58 points to 57. Results: A grade: Labertouche 7 (252) def Warragul White 0 (141), Warragul Blue 6 (301) def Warragul Red 1 (275).
