Consider pedestrian safety
During the recent and ongoing streetscape works in Palmerston St, Warragul there have been several falls involving pedestrians walking through the works area.
One of the women who fell stated that she had sustained fractured ribs.
The Baw Baw Ratepayers Association is very concerned that these falls have occurred and that stronger measures should have been in place to prevent these incidents happening.
Of particular concern has been the practice of spreading green felt for people to walk over, there being no solid foundation beneath the felt making for a very unstable surface on which to walk.
With further streetscape works soon to begin in Smith St, we feel that efforts to provide a safe environment for pedestrians need be taken, otherwise falls will continue to occur.

The businesses that Israeli residents walked away from were destroyed and vandalised by Palestinians who failed to see the opportunities offered to them. Instead of maintaining the hothouses, they destroyed them and the buildings.
Another cause for amusement is the fact that Julie Bishop had stated categorically, Australia’s embassy will not move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. What a pity Miriam got that one wrong too. The view from the Jerusalem hills is a lovely one and the air is cleaner in the holy city. Frankly a move to Jerusalem could be of benefit.
Ilana Leeds, Drouin East Angiolina retired. The scant reference made to them in the third article: “2013 was the beginning of a new era for Alto Motors. Ownership of the business changed from a partnership of four to a partnership of two, with Anthony and Eva Moscato at the helm” did not even mention them by name.
This apparent oversight leaves an inexcusable and significant hole in your published history of Alto Motors. This is a pity because a little more effort and balance would have made a much greater contribution to inform our community of the facts. Aldo Bagnara, Warragul
