Support for diabetes self-management

-

Being diagnosed with diabetes and living with diabetes will change your life in many ways. However, it can be managed and the risk of complications can be reduced.

At Central Clinic they provide a comprehensive approach to managing your diabetes through regular visits with your doctor. People with diabetes often feel they benefit from receiving assistance with their diabetes self-management, be it on a practical, emotional or nutritional level.

At Central Clinic in Warragul and Drouin, they have a team of dedicated health professionals who are committed to providing self-management support, education and encouragement to people with diabetes.

The general practitioners are always available for consultation and assistance.

They also have a practice nurse, Bodil Rogers with a special interest in diabetes who works closely with the individual with diabetes and his/her general practitioners

For specialist diabetes care, they are able to offer the expertise of a Endocrine and Diabetes medicine physician Dr Stephen Ah-Kion. He is available by referral for consultations on Thursday afternoons.

Diabetic foot assessment and care is offered by The Foot and Ankle Clinic, who are now on-site. For any information and assistance with an exercise program or just to get you started, a referral can be made to Nicholas Sedley our Exercise Physiologist.
