Buln Buln edged out Nyora in a low scoring reserves match.

The Lyrebirds kept the Saints goalless in the first half to establish a 17-point margin, one it was able to maintain at the final siren following a competitiv­e second half.

Buln Buln held on to win 5-3 (33) to 2-4 (16) in an important match for its finals aspiration­s.

Ricky McKerrow booted three of his sides’ five goals, while Andrew Welfare, Sean Symes, Matthew Pearson and Reece Campbell were other key players in the win.

Robert Provan, James Harkess, Nicholas Male, Sam Collis, Chris Hodges and Gabe Guppy helped keep the Saints in the contest.

Crows kick away

Longwarry overcame a slow start to account for Warragul Industrial­s, 7-12 (54) to 3-4 (22).

Registerin­g just four behinds in the opening quarter to trail by three points at the first change, the Crows kicked into gear to score seven goals to two to record a comfortabl­e victory.

Harley Jones booted three goals for the Crows, while Shaun Eckhardt, Jake Delphine, Jack Muirhead, Ryan Wouters and Braydon Monroe also helped the home side lift after quarter time.

Brent Kimm, Ayden Mills, Tom Turner, Damien Mullen, Sam Davies and Alex Kubale did their best to keep the Industrial­s in the contest.

Cats look for sweep

Neerim-Neerim South put itself in a position to claim the clean sweep over Lang Lang with a strong victory.

The Cats kicked four goals to one in the first term to kick away and while they could only manage one goal across the next two quarters, Lang Lang also found it difficult to score with just five behinds to show for their efforts in the third term.

The Cats kicked three goals to one in the final term to make certain of victory, 8-13 (61) to 2-6 (18).

James Johnson, Jack Erickson, Jayden Bell, Jeremiah Jones, Luke Bottom and Mathew Cumming helped the Cats control the match.

Eagles finish strong

Ellinbank comfortabl­y accounted for NilmaDarnu­m, 11-12 (78) to 2-4 (16).

The Eagles gradually worked to a 40-point lead at the final change and finished strongly with four goals to one in the final term.

Shannon Whelan and Jeremy Gray each kicked three goals, while Jacob Walker, Blake Notman and Neale Parke were also prominent.

Josh Deschepper pressed his case for senior recall, while Justin Dessent, Andrew Campbell, Thomas Williamson and Ben Giles were also among the better players for the Bombers.

Blues break away

Catani kept Poowong scoreless in the second half on the way to winning, 10-10 (70) to 1-2 (8).

Having establishe­d a four goal break at half time, the miserly Blues put the brakes on the Magpies to run out a comfortabl­e victory.

Lachlan Pratt booted four goals and received support from Wade Haysom, Justin Evans, Drew Campbell, Brad Adams, Tom McLean and William Temby.

Poowong were best served by Ben Drew, Steven Bromby, Lachlan Bourne, Matthew Loughridge, Kyle Aitken and Michael O’Rafferty.
