Fast start for Eagles in under 18s

-

A fast start helped Ellinbank hold off a determined Warragul Industrials in the under 18s.

The Eagles kicked five goals to establish a handy buffer that would enable them to take the points despite a second half fightback from the Industrials.

Following an inaccurate first half which saw the Industrials score 1-6, they found their range in the second half to boot four goals to one.

The earlier deficit was too much to overcome as the Industrials fell short, 8-10 (58) to 5-10 (40).

Brydon Price, Brent Kestle, Lachie Carroll, Paratene Cooper, Lachlan Hedrick and Jake Tyers led the early charge for the Eagles.

Ethan Winduss, Blake Kahan, Luke Rasmussen, Ryan Young, Nathan McEwan and Riley Sheriff helped the Industrials fight back in the second half.

Birds hold Saints

Buln Buln comfortably accounted for Nyora, 9-8 (62) to 3-5 (23).

The Saints hung in for the first half before the Lyrebirds kicked four goals to one in the second half to make sure of victory.

Marko Kulas kicked five goals in a best afield effort, while Chad Hall, Bailey Wright, Eamon Brew, Eric Ceron and Billy Bundle were also among the better players.

Oscar Lazarus, Jai McNaughton, Lachlan Fievez, Lincoln Brock, Tyson Fievez and Jack Felton battled for Nyora.

Blues win big

Catani were big winners over Poowong, 16-13 (109) to 3-2 (20).

The reigning premiers were consistent throughout, booting seven goals in the third term to make up for a lacklustre second term.

Lennard Edwards-Hayes booted four goals, while Mitchell Hovenbitzer chipped in with three majors.

Lachlan Seppings, Lauchlan Gregson, David Lembo, Kiam Rose and Charlie Davies also helped the Blues to a big win.

Jacksen Barlow, Mitchel Van’T Hof, Jye Loughridge, Tane Derrick, Darcy Burgess and Hayden Wallis were the better players for Poowong.

Ruthless Cats

A ruthless Neerim-Neerim South kept Lang Lang scoreless on the way to scoring 17-17 (119).

The Cats kicked four goals in the first term to race out to a 29-point lead and were never headed.

Adam White booted five goals in a best afield effort, while Cooper Clancy chipped in with three majors. Lachlan Guy, Josh White, Charlie Bethune, Rhys George and Christian Robertson-Edgar were also prominent.

Daniel Makepeace, Dakota Boswell, Mason Koffman, Cameron Stephenson and Rhys Simmons battled against the odds for the Tigers.
