Three generations dance for charity

-

A re-creation of Kate Bush’s iconic music video for “Wuthering Heights” will raise money for charity at the Warragul Country Club on Saturday afternoon.

Organiser Belinda Best said it wasn’t too late to join the fun whilst raising funds for the Alannah and Madeline Foundation.

“We’ll all dress up in red and do the dance to Wuthering Heights,” said Ms Best who added rehearsals had proven to be “a lot of fun”.

She said 12 people had already signed up to join the ensemble which will dance at 3pm. Registration costs $20 and no dance skills are necessary.

Those who don’t wish to dance are also urged to come along and donate. “We’ll have a lot of onlookers,” said Ms Best. “A lot have said I don’t dance but I’ll make a donation. We’ll have a couple of tins going around.”

The Warragul event was formed after Ms Best saw the Melbourne “Wuthering Heights Dance” promoted on the news. She hopes it will become an annual event.

“It was go to Melbourne and do the dance or do one here,” she said.

The Warragul Country Club has got behind the charity dance which will take place on the grass in front of the function room.

The worldwide event celebrates the sharing of Kate Bush’s 60th with Emily Bronte’s 200th birthday.
