Giorgi runner up in state final
Giorgi Boucher of Warragul has been awarded runner up in the Victorian Agricultural Society’s junior rural ambassador award.
The award win in Ballarat followed Giorgi’s success in the Central and South Gippsland award from a judging event in Korumburra in May.
Ambassadors start at the local show or field day level and progress to a group final.
The VAS promotes and coordinates two award programs that encourage and support young people living in rural and regional Victoria.
The ambassador awards highlight and celebrate rural and regional young people, with a emphasis on candidates who are involved with their local show. The awards seek to draw attention to the talent, creativity and ingenuity of young rural Victorians and in doing so encourage the candidates to become engaged citizens across local communities.
During the awards cycle, the candidates participate in public relations and leadership seminars to enable them to polish their communication and presentation skills and prepare them for the state finals.
Giorgi was representing the Central and South Gippsland region and Pakenham Show Society.
Chloe Bowles of the Bendigo Agricultural Show Society took out the junior rural ambassador title.
The Gippsland region was represented by Brenton Davies of the Bairnsdale Agricultural Society.
