One sided affairs in U16
Longwarry thumped Buln Buln in a one-sided round of under 16 matches.
The Crows opened up a six goal quarter time lead and consistently built their lead throughout to win 19-8 (122) to 1-3 (9).
Angus Adamiak continued his goal kicking form, finishing with eight majors, while Aidan Fox roved well to chip in with four goals.
Harrison Stephens, David Ahrens, Bailey Stephens, Seth Ashton and Brodie Bould also stood up in a dominant performance.
Drew Cahill scored Buln Buln’s consolation goal in the final term.
Ray Smith, Brendan Wall, Lachlan Axford, Tobey May, Flynn Davey and Jaiden McDougal also battled against the odds.
Eagles in control
Ellinbank comfortably accounted for Catani, 7-8 (50) to 3-1 (19).
All of the Blues’ score bar one point came in the second term in a match where the Eagles otherwise maintained control.
Four goals in the first term gave the buffer the Eagles needed and while the Blues closed the margin to 14-points at half time, the Eagles were able to control a low scoring second half.
Bryce Joyce, Sam Pratt, Lewis Kennedy, Corey Garlick, Sam Salce and Josh Williams helped lead Ellinbank to victory.
Magpies kick clear
Poowong comfortably accounted for Neerim-Neerim South, 12-8 (80) to 5-6 (36).
The Magpies kicked out to a 34-point advantage at half time and while the Cats were able to win the third term, the resistance was short lived as the visitor slammed through four goals to nil in the final term.
Hayden Wallis booted four goals for the Magpies while Brian Kelson chipped in with three majors.
Zac Gray, Ryan Knight, Tane Derrick and Kyle Loveridge also helped the Magpies control the match.
Daly Taylor, Isaac Fuller, Thomas Crole, Aaron Mitchell, Ayden Ramm and Lachlan Smith led a competitive third term from the Cats.
Warragul Industrials had the bye.
