Dusties dominate Edithvale

Warragul Industrial­s women football team played Edithvale-Aspendale at Eastern Park on Sunday in what would be a one-sided match, with Dusties dominating for four quarters.

The women took to the field for the round 13 match looking for a big win against the metro side and they didn’t disappoint.

A full team effort with some standout plays by best on ground Breanna Pratt steered the team to an emphatic win and prepare them for a bigger game next week against Cranbourne.

Warragul came out firing in the first quarter booting four goals to nothing and the Edithvale-Aspendale side digging in for the second quarter to limit the Dusties to solitary goal for the quarter.

The third quarter saw Sarah Burns come from the bench, move from the ruck to full forward and kick four goals in 10 minutes, sealing the fate of Edithvale by the end of the quarter.

Not to be outdone, the Dusties continued their efforts in the final term, again kicking another four goals and giving them a 77point win for the game. Next week the Dusties travel to Cranbourne to play the Eagles for fifth position on the ladder in the final game of the home and away season for 2018.
