Business group carries momentum
A strong turnout saw all positions filled at Drouin and District Business Group annual general meeting.
The executive committee members all returned to fill their positions for a second term, while another two newly created positions were also filled.
Returning president Jeffery Smith said it was of real benefit for the members that the executive committee was together for another year.
“It will allow us to really keep our momentum moving forward,” he said.
“Our new members, coupled with the formation of a sub-committee to help run the Drouin Lights Up Festival, will provide us with the opportunity to function in ways which he have not been able to in the past and that is very exciting position for us to be in.”
Guest speakers Baw Baw Shire chief executive Alison Leighton and executive manager communications and economic development Mark Kestigan spoke on tourism, events, town planning, regional growth and support for small businesses.
Recently announced Labor candidate for Monash Jessica O’Donnell provided her services as chairman for the evening. She also assisted guest speakers Alison and Mark in fielding and answering questions from the attendees.
