New look for awards

-

A new business awards program will be launched by Celebrate Baw Baw next month.

Celebrate Baw Baw is a local committee bringing people and their businesses together and enabling them to network with each other to continue growth, strength and partnership in the region.

The committee was developed when a group of like-minded business professionals who agreed local businesses and individuals should continue to be recognised and rewarded for their work long after the previous business awards were cancelled.

Through a new business awards program, the committee aims to recognise the outstanding achievements of organisations and businesses whose passion and commitment enhance the region.

Celebrate Baw Baw is run by a group of local businesses executives who have volunteered their time to develop a new model of business awards, replacing the former Baw Baw Business Awards. Baw Baw Shire has supported the new model of awards.

The new committee will be formally launched at the Warragul Country Club on September 4 at a function between 6pm and 7.30pm.

The new awards include five categories: best small business; best medium business; best large business; community commendation award – individual or group; and people’s choice award.

These Awards provide entrants a chance to be recognised for their outstanding effort. They’ll receive publicity and media exposure to promote their business and achievements, as well as opportunities to network to establish relationships with other local businesses.

If you know an amazing or inspirational business in Baw Baw, encourage them to enter the Celebrate Baw Baw business awards, or nominate them yourself.

The new application/nomination process is simple and navigating through our website should answer any questions. Nominations close on October 30.

Judging and onsite interviews will be undertaken between November and January and finalists will be announced in February.

The gala awards dinner will be held on March 1.
