Poultry show far from a paltry affair

-

Warragul Poultry Club is celebrating its most successful year yet, with record numbers entering its annual shows.

With the club receiving more sponsorship and increasing its promotion as a result, its annual show attracted some 750 entries.

It followed on from a successful young bird show in May, which saw a record number of 230 birds entered.

Annual show manager Kevin Collins said the club hoped to build on its already impressive numbers for next year.

“We put in a big effort for our annual show and it was the best we’ve had,” he said.

“Usually we have between 400 and 450 birds, but this year we had 750 entries.”

While the club will hold its next monthly show on September 16, it will also look ahead to its young bird show next year aiming to build on its success.
