Successful year for Business Group

-

A new website and strong visitation to Snowfest were among highlights for Warragul Business Group over the past year.

Speaking at the group’s annual general meeting, re-elected president Teresa Mitchell said Business Group members had worked for months to help pull off a successful Snowfest event, which attracted an estimated 10,000 visitors from Gippsland and Melbourne’s southeast.

“Each event is about creating customer loyalty and contributing to regional economy growth,” she said.

“We encourage every member business to think about a Warragul Business Group partnership and hosting a networking event.

“It’s a powerful way to get known by a lot of people at once.

“Hold the event at your business place or location of choice, so people learn who you are, what you do and where you are.”

Ms Mitchell said other highlights included new branding and a new website.

“Many of you will have noticed we have new branding,” she said.

“Earlier this year, we successfully obtained a $5000 grant from the Victorian Small Business Commission to rebuild our website.

“It’s pleasing to see our new branding on the web and through our social media channels.”

Ms Mitchell thanked the executive committee for their hard work, volunteer hours and contributions.

“Thank you Dave Cann, John Paul D’Amico, Nerida Hills Sue Jones Susie Warencycia, Andrew Schreyer, Kim McFarlane who is retiring from the executive, and our executive officer Sue Keirnan,” she said.

Teresa Mitchell, Nerida Hills and John-Paul D’Amico were re-elected as president, secretary and treasurer respectively, while Sue Keirnan will continue as executive officer.

Andrew Schreyer, Sue Jones, Kate Grayham and Susie Warencycia were elected as executive members.

Keynote speaker for the event was Lardner Park chief executive Nicola Pero.

She provided meany thoughts and ideas for people to take back and consider in their own business.
