Trafalgar hosts Dance Hall

-

A transcendent night of song and dance will hit Trafalgar when “Dance Hall” appears on Friday, September 14 at 7.30pm.

Described as an unmissable night, the performance at Trafalgar Public Hall will sweep the entire audience into line dances, Ethiopian shimmy and a spot of Bollywood before busting out ABBA.

International cabaret star and show director Moira Finucane says, “this will be the night of the year, so grab your friends, dress up, bring a plate and get ready for a great night – and a boogie. From line dances to rock n’ rollers, everyone is involved.”

“We’ve taken breathtaking variety, jaw dropping dance and irresistible cabaret all over the world, to 15 countries of standing ovations and international awards. But we adore coming home to Victorian towns large and small.”

Eva Moscato said Finucane and Smith’s “Dance Hall” show in Trafalgar was being coordinated by the Trafalgar Public Hall and Trafalgar Amateur Drama Society (TADS) groups.

Ms Moscato said it was the third cabaret style show scheduled in Trafalgar. “Dance Hall” is similar to the cabaret style of the first show rather than last year’s stage show.

“Like with anything, we’re trying to get the arts down in Trafalgar,” she said. “This is one of the big events that takes a lot of coordination. The more it’s supported, the more likely we will do something again next year.”

Any revenue raised will be directed into hall upgrades.

New curtains, new floors and sound improvements are amongst a host of recent works undertaken. Lighting is likely to be the next step.

“There’s always things that need doing. (But) the hall is at its best in a long time,” she said.

Doors open at 7pm ahead of the 7.30pm show. Tickets are $25 per person. Bring your own food to share with drinks available to purchase. No BYO drinks.
