Dragons suffer wrath of Chelsea

Drouin Dragons suffered the wrath of Chelsea on Saturday, with the Melbourne team Chelsea spoiling the party for Drouin’s annual sponsor’s day.

The top of the ladder Chelsea peppered the back of the net and showed no mercy to record a 9-0 victory, the loss consigning Drouin to the bottom of the state league five ladder.

The Dragons Reserves fared better, going down 4-1.

It was a gallant effort from the 11th placed Drouin against top team Chelsea, whose impressive record stands at 16 wins, one draw and one loss.

Strikers fall

Bunyip District also found the going difficult, going down to Somerville 7-0.

With the third-placed Eagles pushing for finals, the Strikers found their opposition difficult to contain.

The Strikers also found it difficult in the Reserves, going down 8-0.

Warragul fight out draw

Warragul United battled out a 2-2 draw with the Casey Comets in state leage one.

The fifth-placed United entered the contest looking for an important win over the ninthplace­d Comets to sty in touch wth the top four.

United will enter the penultimat­e round two points adrift of fourth-placed Caulfield Cobras.
