Warragul up to third in division three

Warragul Bowling Club had an all too familiar day in round five of WGBD pennant on Saturday, with just one team winning.

Division two: Warragul (1) lost to Traralgon (3) 86/90.

John Vickerman, David Alderman, Necip Akarsu and Graeme Davis lost to R. Davey’s team 23/28. Shirley Melsen, Bob Currie, Peter Gallasch and Clive Padgham lost to M. Cumming’s team 20/27. Matt Smith, Jim Power, Janette Gallasch and Ken Scammell lost to G. Talbot’s team 18/22. Ken Landman, Pat Hammond, Paul Simmons and Bill Clappers defeated T. James’ team 25/13.

Division two: Warragul (2) lost to Longwarry 58/101.

John Bell, Gabrielle Draisma, Roy Hammond and Peter Wood lost to Russell White’s team 12/32. Ken May, Brian Kennedy, Russell Bruce and David Smith defeated Ken White’s team 19/18. Lester Mason, Ken Brown, Keith Wilkins and David Gatewood lost to Trevor Eastwell’s team 12/29. Kerrie Currie, Alan McDonnell, Ian Belling and Jim Moyle lost to Barry White’s team 15/22.

Division three: Warragul (3) defeated Moe (2) 88/83.

Peter Howlett, May Baldwin, Bill Clark and David Ferguson lost to L. Horton’s team 18/20. Brian Barby, Vin Roche, Matt Draisma and Fred Pitcher defeated N. Hinchcliff­e’s team 30/20. Gary Thomas, Ron Collins, Graham Cobban and Chris Wilkins lost to K. Hunter’s team 19/25. Ted Holland, Patrick McGowan, Nug Davies and Ray Headspeath defeated E. Davies’ team 26/18.

Division five: Warragul (4) lost to Morwell (3) 65/85.

Michael Royce, Barry Downer, Elsie Hefford and David Piggin lost to J. Turner’s team 17/40. Glynnis Mitchell, Marj Evison, Greg Mitchell and Mike Cousens lost to J. Kuhne’s team 21/23. Jean Kydd, Bill Dye, Marg Keeffe and Alan Potter defeated T. Curtis’ team 27/22.

Division six: Warragul (5) lost to Trafalgar (3) 36/54.

Trevor Crofts, Mary Cobban, Barbara Maloni and Sue Haddock lost to G. Burt’s team 18/25. Thelma Young, Wilf Boscombe, Stella Gedye and Len Duncan lost to S. Robinson’s team 18/29.

In round six of WGBD pennant on Saturday, Warragul one is away to Traralgon two, Warragul two is home to Traralgon three, Warragul three is away to Traralgon RSL two, Warragul four is home to Traralgon five and Warragul five is away to Drouin four.
