Great turn out for triathlon

-

It was a great turn out for both the seniors and juniors triathlons at Warragul based Wild Dog Triathlon Club on Saturday.

WDTC welcomed a group of members from the Latrobe Valley Triathlon Club who added to the competition in the seniors events.

Access to the Warragul Leisure Centres 50 meter outdoor pool made the seniors events more combative.

Many seniors were happy to be already improving their race times, with competition already hotting up for points towards the club championship.

Linda Myers excelled with first place in the fun event, Andrew Legge first in the short event and Paul Taylor had a strong finish in the long event.

The juniors races continue to be popular with children 5-12 years with several new members signing up this week, combined with the return of many keen regular WDTC juniors.

The post race barbecue is always a hit with the children.

WDTC hold three categories of seniors events being fun, short and long courses starting at 5pm on Saturdays.

The WDTC junior events start at 4.30pm, with lap distances to suit ages 5-12 years. People are urged to get there early to register. Volunteers to assist with set up and marshalling are always welcome on the day.

Wild Dog Triathlon Club welcomes previous and new members with all information on events, membership and race details located on facebook or visit the website www.wilddogtriclub.org.au.
