Pi­rate in­va­sion for book fair

Pi­rates in­vaded War­ragul and District Spe­cial­ist School for its book fair last week.

Pi­rates big and small ar­rived at school on Tues­day for fun pi­rate ac­tiv­i­ties which in­cluded a trea­sure hunt, singing, mak­ing pi­rate hats and telling pi­rate sto­ries.

Vis­it­ing au­thor Adam Wal­lace, who has writ­ten more than 30 chil­dren’s books in­clud­ing the Pete McGee se­ries aimed at the 8-14year age mar­ket, pro­vided fur­ther cre­ative in­spi­ra­tion for the stu­dents.

Joshua Pas­salac­qua, Layla Kirkham, Zachary Downie and Haven McGil­livray got into the spirit of the pi­rate theme with their class teacher Julie Rech­steiner.

Lil­lie Brown, Jack Tobin and Ajay Smart show their im­pres­sive pi­rate cos­tumes.

Alex Tay­lor and Michael Davies drew in­spi­ra­tion from vis­it­ing au­thor Adam Wal­lace dur­ing book fair week at War­ragul and District Spe­cial­ist School.

Abbey Somerville-Den­ni­son wel­comes vis­it­ing au­thor Adam Wal­lace to the school’s li­brary of books dur­ing its book fair.
