15 new jobs for supermarket

-

Coles will create 15 new local jobs and an enhanced shopping experience when it unveils its refurbished Warragul supermarket tomorrow.

The recruitment brings the total number of team members to 123, which includes three long-serving team members who have amassed over 80 years of service combined.

Assistant Store Manager Amanda Mather has worked with Coles supermarkets across the state since 2004 and is eager to introduce the new store to the local community.

“We are family here at Coles and all of our team members are excited to open the doors to a refreshed contemporary looking store with so much more to offer our customers like our new instore bakery and market-style fresh produce area which includes locally grown produce like our tomatoes grown right here in Warragul,” she said.

Coles in Warragul is known for their truss tomatoes supplied by local family owned business, Flavorite Tomatoes. The store will also introduce a variety of Coles branded health food lines along with new food ranges like ‘Food for Health’ across the aisles giving shoppers an extensive range to choose from.

“We are proud to continue our long time partnership with Flavorite Tomatoes and the team is always excited when we get our daily fresh delivery. We’re also thrilled to introduce the new Coles health food lines in-store as it will offer Warragul locals more variety and healthy options. We feel this is a step in the right direction for Coles and the Warragul community,” she said.

As part of the refurbishment, the store will introduce Click&Collect, a service where local residents can shop for their groceries online and collect them from the customer service desk. With a recent market insights report revealing that online shopping is growing at a rapid rate (up 14 per cent between March 2017 and March 2018), Coles online has seen double digit growth as more Australians choose the service.

Shoppers can also benefit from a quick and easy shopping experience with eight manned checkouts, complementing 10 self-service checkouts and Coles’ in-store customer service.

Additionally, the new-look store boasts a new in-store bakery, delicatessen offering slice on request, as well as a large selection of cheeses and a fresh produce area with fruit and vegetables displayed on ice.

Warragul team members are currently fundraising for the Redkite Christmas appeal to help families affected by cancer pay for rising household bills, medical and travel expenses.

Local shoppers can purchase $2 donation cards at Coles in Warragul with 100 per cent of funds going directly to Redkite. For the first time, Coles has also developed a new range of Redkite Christmas products – from a Belgian choc pop to a plush toy, mug, sticker book, Christmas cards and more – with funds going directly to Redkite including 20 cents from the sale of every $1 Coles Gingerbread, Elf and Reindeer biscuits.

Coles at Warragul is located on 30 Palmerston St, Warragul and is open from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week.
