School cricket reschedule­d

Rain wreaked havic with school cricket at Yarragon last Thursday, with the School Sport Victoria state quarter final reschedule­d.

Some play had been possible on Thursday morning before the rain intervened, forcing matches to be reschedule­d to Monday.

With Yarragon still too wet for play, matches were moved to Marist Sion with both year seven and eight teams playing 15 overs per side.

The year sevens took to the field first, with Mackinnon batting first and scoring a competitiv­e total of 5/83.

Jack Logan and Luke Garner both returned 1/10 from three overs to be the picks.

Marist-Sion College lost early wickets, being 2/5 off two overs, and never really recovered. They finished at 6/60. Luke Garner 21 off 15 balls and Jack Logan not out 13 were also the best of the bats.

Results for the year eight match against Koo wee rup were not available at time of going to print.
