Lock it or lose it

Police are again reinforcin­g their message for people to lock cars after a spate of thefts from cars in Warragul over the past week.

Offenders targeted seven vehicles in Elm Crt, Myrtle Crt, Banksia St, Dawson Drv and Bertram Drv overnight on Tuesday night. All vehicles were unlocked. Police said nothing of value was stolen from the vehicles but owners had made it easy for offenders to enter their cars.

A black Holden VY sedan valued at $8000 was stolen from a Trafalgar property on Sunday night.

The vehicle was stolen from outside a house in Nelson Rd between 11.30pm Sunday and 7am yesterday morning.

Police said there were no signs of broken glass from a forced entry into the vehicle.

In another incident, a 2006 Yamaha fourwheel motorbike was stolen from a rural property in Lardners Trk at Drouin East last week.

The vehicle was stolen between November 23 and 26.

The motorbike was located at a property in Waterford Rise last Monday.

A Supreme pop-up caravan was stolen from a property in Jindivick last week.

The caravan was stolen from a carport at a property n Mason Rd at about 5.40am on Tuesday.

The caravan was described as white and black with a grey cover.

Police also are investigat­ing the theft of a front bumper bar stolen from a Nissan Navara four-wheel drive in Lampards Rd, Drouin. The theft occurred overnight on Friday night. Police said offenders used force to remove the bumper bar valued at $545.
