Ballistic knock sees Crows home

-

through fantastic knocks from Paddy Mulqueen (53) and Matthew Bow (51) looked to complete an impossible chase.

Unfortunately for the home side, once the duo was dismissed there was no one who made any meaningful contributions as 1127 quickly became 6-150 thanks to Jason Batson (3-30).

The Gulls saved some pride on their way to 6-180 at the close of play.

Iona have good win

Hallora 125 def by Iona 6/129 A fine bowling performance has given Iona a good win away from home against Hallora.

Winning the toss and bowling, Iona were consistent and gave Hallora very little to hit as Mick Taylor (3-19), Luke Ferguson (2-29) and Sam Accardi (2-19) were professional in their performance to restrict Hallora to just 125.

Steve Fox (37) provided a captain’s knock to give the home side a chance at victory, and they put their foot in the right direction early, as Alex Henshall took three early wickets to leave the Swamp Tigers struggling on 3-35.

Mick Taylor (25) was circumspect as he took the score to 69 before Luke Ferguson (20) pushed the score to 99 before the sixth wicket fell.

With steady heads needed, the Lenders brothers Kieran and Liam added 30 for the seventh wicket to be the heroes required as Iona completed victory in the 36th over to make it three in a row.

Hawks dismantle Bankers

Drouin 2/107 def Ellinbank 103 Drouin has shown why they are top of the ladder, dismantling Ellinbank at home.

After losing the toss and having to field, Drouin made the Eagles pay as the Ellinbank batsmen struggled.

None of the top order made a meaningful contribution as wickets tumbled, with Logan Starc (4-16), Jack McConville (2-12) and Alex Gaudion (2-21) the overall pick of the bowlers as Ellinbank wilted to 103.

Matt Robertson (24) managed to make vital lower-order runs, however Drouin’s batsmen made light work of the chase.

Nick Harper (34*) and Rhys Fairlie (34) never even gave Ellinbank a sniff, as an early wicket taken by Jack Pandolfo was about as good as it got for the away side, as Drouin made the runs in 22 overs.
