Having been sent in by the home side the Hawks were in real trouble losing 3/5 before Thomas Wans (12) and Harrison Forwood (25) steadied ship.

Despite wickets falling at regular intervals the visitor kept the scoreboard ticking over with valuable contributions from Kye Osseweyer (25) and Clint Sezney (22) pushing the required run rate to above four runs an over.

The bowlers had a torrid time controlling the ball with 40 wides and a total of 52 extras.

Liam Finnegan was the best of the bowlers with 2/15 while Liam Lisle chipped in with 2/30.

The Eagles made a positive start to their chase with James Scammell dominating the scoring.

The wheels fell off for the home side however with a five-wicket collapse leaving them reeling at 5/57.

Scammell remained stoic as his teammates came and went, carrying his bat through the entire innings to finish with 68 not out.

But with Adam Campbell (16) the only other batsman to reach double figures, the target proved to be to much.

Jesse Craig was the best of the bowlers, snaring 3/20 off six tidy overs, while Thomas Wans chimed in with 3/36.

Crows big winners

Longwarry 9/150 def Hallora 10/92 Longwarry has successfully defended a low total to pull off a big win over Hallora.

Choosing to bat first the Crows started out slowly before Gary Kear (55) got settled at the crease.

Kear anchored the innings as the home sides’ middle order struggled to get going.

Aiden Fox made a good start before falling for 20 while Corey Davis (12*) added handy runs at the end.

Brian McDonald gave nothing away with the new ball, finishing with 2/15 off eight overs.

Jake Dean (2/5 off three) and Daniel Simons (2/19) provided good support.

In reply the Kangas never got going, quickly slumping to 4/16 as Corey Davis (3/26) ran riot.

Daniel Simons (17) and Brian McDonald (13) offered some resistance while Daniel Sell top scored for the visitor with a boundary laden 39 (five fours and a six).

Jesse Lafrantz quickly wrapped up the innings claiming an incredible 3/4 off two overs.
