Round six concluded at the weekend with one-day matches being played after day one was washed out.

The first day of summer provided testing conditions with the mercury rising towards the 30-degree mark.

Division four saw some hard-fought encounters with both Jindivick sides taking the points over Warragul and Iona.

Longwarry ran out big winners against Hallora.

A lacklustre batting performance from Ellinbank gave Drouin a comfortable win.

Black undefeated

Jindivick Black 7/163 def Iona 10/161 Jindivick Black has kept its unbeaten record intact, cruising to victory over Iona with six overs to spare.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Iona got off to a shaky start with both openers going cheaply.

In-form batsmen Sean McCormack (48) and Lachlan Morris (26) got the Swamp Tigers going before Jindivick stemmed the flow through the middle overs with Shane Hoskins (2/26) chiming in with a couple of wickets in quick succession.

Late cameos from Callum Strange (19) and Chris Phelan (34) helped the home side to a decent (albeit a below par) total before being all out in the 39th over.

Jordan Larkman did the early work with the new ball claiming 3/48 while Kevin Larkman wrapped up the tail with an economical eight over spell that saw him finish with 3/19.

In reply the Jumping Jacks made a steady start through Aaron Larkman (24) and Jordan Larkman (18) before a middle order collapse that saw them lose 4/9.

Michael Scully (in his first outing of the season) was the catalyst snaring 3/19.

Club stalwarts Daryl Bagnall (36) and Kevin Larkman (35) revived the chase with a 71-run partnership as the visitor closed in on victory, eventually reaching the target seven wickets down.

Scully was the only multiple wicket taker on what was a difficult day for the bowlers.

Gulls struggle

Jindivick Gold 6/133 def Warragul 8/130 (cc) Jindivick Gold had little trouble in accounting for Warragul after choosing to send the visitor in.

The Gulls struggled to get going with the first three wickets falling for just 22 runs.

Cameron Smith and John Mulqueen briefly lifted the run rate before Smith fell for a well grafted 25. Mulqueen proved harder to shift but eventually went for 28 with the score still below triple figures.

Vaneet Singh (on debut for Warragul) and Toby Shelton offered some late resistance, making 17 and 16 not out respectively, helping their side face out the allotted overs.

Jeremy Hill was the pick of the bowlers with a miserly 3/19 off eight overs with good support coming from Peter Shea who finished with 3/28.
