Division 3

- By Joel Batson

Buln Buln 6/120 def Bunyip 119 Buln Buln has kept their season on track, handing Bunyip their second defeat in a row.

Bowling first, Sam Reid (3-18) and Harry Wans (4-31) did the job for the Lyrebirds as the Bulls batsmen seemingly could not get going.

In turn, Bunyip were bundled out for their lowest total of the season (119) and never recovered.

Jack Symes (37) got the Birds off to a terrific start, before Reece Campbell (20) anchored the innings home as wickets started to fall, as Buln won an important fixture by four wickets.

Titans win thriller

Yarragon 4/175 def by Garfield-Tynong 6/176 Garfield-Tynong has defeated Yarragon in thrilling fashion.

Winning the toss and batting, Yarragon through John Allsop (61) and Aaron Donoghue (53) were in the box-seat for much of their batting innings, posting 4-175 off their allotted overs as only Jack Salan (2-25) was able to slow the run rate.

In reply, the Titans fell to 2-21 due to some terrific bowling from Donoghue (3-34), however, experienced pair Daniel Savage (68) and Anthony Hart (54) added 113 to put the match back in the balance.

Wickets to Bright and Harvey left the match in a nervy balance heading into the last five overs, however Jamez Reeve (20*) held his nerve to secure the win with a ball to spare for the Titans.

Stags show class

Neerim District 3/198 def Drouin 9/172 A wonderful batting display by Bailey George (83*) and Anthony McCann (68) has given Neerim a relatively comfortable victory over Drouin at home.

The pair were a class above their opposition as they punished the ball around the ground, as the Stags posted 3-198 off their 40 overs.

This seemed too high a mountain to climb for the Hawks, and so it would prove Jude Fernando (88*) batted through the innings and showed his class, however no one else managed to pass 20 for Drouin as they reached 9-172 off their overs and ultimately fell 26 runs short.
