Erica man rescued
A 58-year-old Erica man was one of three people rescued early on Christmas Day at Venus Bay.
The Police Airwing was called to rescue three people who were stranded in shallow mud on Tuesday.
Police were told the two men and a woman set off to kayak through Andersons Inlet on Christmas Eve in the mid-afternoon.
They became stuck in mud and, after several hours, the kayakers found they were still unable to move and called 000.
Around midnight, Polair reached the trio and winched them to safety at Inverloch, where they were met by police and paramedics.
The Erica man, together with his 29-year-old companions from Bendigo, were all uninjured.
