The Letters to the Editor (Gazette 31/12) from Bruce Pratt, Helen Case and Kath Trewern - congratulations to all of them for speaking up.
Thank you also to the “The Gazette” for actually publishing those letters. It is very good to have such a paper that accepts citizen’s letters.
I have contacted the council and individual councillors before they started doing Palmerston St and I argued there were more important projects in our town.
This council has wasted many millions of dollars on the town itself and has completely neglected people with disabilities, for example, the corner of Copelands Rd and Albert St has no footpath, which makes it very dangerous for people on scooters, they have to dodge trucks, buses and cars.
It seems that after the council has wasted millions of dollars on projects in town it would be appropriate to build a footpath for the people living along Copelands Rd and Sutton St.
Dawson Drv is not complete either so to get out of the area you have to drive or walk up Bladen St, which is very steep and so is the way back up Sutton St.
Huge bricks to all land owners, hobby farmers in particular, who are spreading their weeds by not spraying them or removing them. If you do not have the skills or time to do your bit, pay someone else to do it.
If you own land you are supposed to care for it. Too many farms and roadsides are an ugly mess, as irresponsible people will not do their bit, to make our area stay beautiful.
