New area for alcohol sales

-

The area where alcohol can be sold and consumed at the West Gippsland Arts Centre has been amended to cater for the redeveloped centre.

A report to Baw Baw Shire said amending the area where alcohol could be sold or consumed would allow the arts centre to provide a service to patrons while meeting statutory requirements.

Officers said there would be no alterations to the proposed hours of operation and it was not there would be no loss of amenity.

The application to amend the area was advertised and no objections received.

Cr Michael Leaney said everyone who had been to the arts centre would know how wonderful it was.

“Clearly the previous liquor licence is invalid because it doesn’t consume the area of the current building,” he said.

Cr Tricia Jones said after expanding the auditorium it made sense to expand the liquor licence area for the patrons to improve their whole theatre experience.
