Warragul Philatelic Society

-

With thoughts of good food to be consumed, Warragul Philatelic Society had a strong attendance for its last meeting of the year.

The Society received a presentation plaque from Drouin Community Bank, who will be supporting the stamp and coin fair in June.

Society valuers have been checking out some collections recently, some beyond the Society’s means, one uncertain and one bought. The Society appreciate their efforts.

Other clubs were reported on and seem to be functioning well, which is good for the hobby.

Several club members have had medical problems during the year, but appear to be coming good now. The Society wish them all the best for the coming year.

Two members attended the Morwell club annual general meeting and were impressed by the amount of work in the display and talk on the rise and fall of the Australian automobile industry.

The Society are still chasing details regarding its proposed name change. More details will be provided at a later stage.

The next stamp auction has been booked for March 23 in the Warragul RSL hall.

The monthly club competition on Father Christmas was won by B Hodges, second was B Bywater with J Mowbray third.

The overall winner for the 2018-year club competition was J Hewson, followed by J Hill and J Mowbray. The club congratulated all who entered and offered such interesting and high standard contributions.
