Train disruptions continue
Coaches are continuing to replace all Gippsland line trains until Sunday as works continue on the railway line into Melbourne.
The next phase of the state government’s major transport projects is continuing with a summer construction blitz starting last week to prepare for the Metro Tunnel and the new fleet of high capacity metro trains.
These works will create more capacity along Melbourne’s busiest train line and improve reliability for passengers, particularly on the shared section with V/Line trains to and from Gippsland.
Buses are replacing trains on the Gippsland line, operating as express and semi-express services, and are free in recognition of the continued disruption for Gippsland passengers.
The disruptions are expected to continue until Sunday, January 13.
