Hotel function permit abandoned
A proposal to re-open the former Coopers Creek Hotel for functions and special events has been refused by Baw Baw Shire after the applicants failed to provide further information.
The hotel ceased operating 10 years ago and as a result existing use rights have expired.
A report to council said officers had sought further information about the planning application in January last year but nothing had been provided.
The permit, originally lodged in 2017, sought to use the former hotel and land in Coopers Creek Rd for a hotel, festivals, caravan park and liquor licence.
Cr Michael Leaney said this was an abandoned application, originally submitted as a result of an event that occurred without a permit.
He said there had been no follow-up since then and no further information provided.
