Warragul Bonsai Group

-

2019 has begun with bonsai owners diligently keeping their trees well hydrated.

Preventing the trees from drying out on these very hot days is challenging with sometimes the need to water twice in a day.

The first meeting of the year for the Warragul Bonsai Group will be January 17. First on the agenda is the popular Members’s Critique where trees from private collections are brought along for show and discussion.

After the success of the club’s recent show, seven new members will be joining the group. This first meeting is a timely opportunity to discuss the basics of tools and wire. The monthly workshop which follows on Saturday will continue the theme of Bonsai basics.

“There are no borders in bonsai. The dove of peace flies to palace as to humble house, to young as to old, to rich and poor. So does the spirit of bonsai” – John Naka.

Interested in the world of little trees? Join us Thursday, January 17 at 7.30pm, in the science block, rear of the Community College Gippsland, 71 Warragul-Korumburra Rd, Warragul.

All welcome, cuppa and light supper provided.
