Stephanie recognised for service
Trafalgar High School last year awarded its annual community service award to Stephanie Paul of Hill End.
A graduating year 12 student, Stephanie was awarded for her consistent contribution both the school and wider community.
Stephanie was a school captain in 2018 and had been a member of the Student Representative Council, as well as being a house captain during her time at THS.
“Stephanie also served two years as a student representative to the school’s Respectful Relationships committee,” school principal Jane Mersey said.
“This included her making a presentation to representatives from south and west Gippsland schools on the progress of this new curriculum at Trafalgar High School.”
Stephanie was recognised for her wider community volunteering, especially in the sport communities of Willow Grove and Hill End.
Dorothy Hoare, who serves as a community representative on the School Council, presented Stephanie with her certificate and perpetual shield.
The award, named after Dorothy, recognises her massive contribution to the community of Trafalgar and an OAM recipient.
Dorothy was a foundation member of the Lioness Club of Trafalgar in 1980 and over her time in the club served in roles including president and secretary.
Dorothy was the inaugural chairman of the Trafalgar Youth Resource Centre and now 21 years later remains an active committee member.
She spent two years on the Trafalgar Community Development association and after retiring from the nursing profession in 1992, returned to the health sector as a volunteer on the Baw Baw Latrobe primary care partnerships community advisory committee for four years.
