Scholarships help transition
Educational scholarships were recently presented to six Warragul North Primary School students.
Graduating year six students Ashlyn Holland, Gemma Ryder, Lucas Jones, Jemma Skellern, Haley Pratt and Selina Hunt were pleased to receive the scholarships upon graduating.
The sponsors for the scholarships were the Gippsland Forest Lodge of Warragul, and the Freemasons Foundation Victoria.
Past Master of the Gippsland Forest Lodge Brett Kersten presented the scholarships at the school’s year six graduation ceremony.
Mr Kersten said the scholarships were awarded to assist the award recipients to make an easier transition to secondary school by assisting with the purchase of uniforms, books, computer or stationary equipment.
He said the program was into its fifth year, with the Lodge hoping to continue supporting students into the future.
The Freemasons Foundation Victoria has provided more than $1.5 million in scholarship awards in recent years to assist the youth of Victoria to achieve educational goals.
