Aussie legends combine in Marty Rose Band

Get an early start to Australia Day celebratio­ns when all-time Australian legends band “The Marty Rose Band” perform in Garfield on Friday, January 25.

Marty Rose (Australia’s piano man), David Briggs (Little River Band), Pip Joyce (Glenn Shorrock Band), Jo Imbroll (Ian Moss Band) and Peter Fearn (The Paul McKay Sound) have joined forces after playing with all the greats to create this band.

Marty Rose is renowned as the piano man of Australia and he has been playing solo for about 25 years. He was a regular guest on television show “Good Morning Australia” hosted by Bert Newton, and has worked with artists such as Olivia Newton John and Lisa Edwards.

Rose also performed for Prince Charles and Princess Diana on their Australian tour.

After the Little River Band, David Briggs stopped touring and set sights on discoverin­g new talent. He found “Aussie Crawl” and producing their first two albums.

Briggs is a Grammy-nominated performer and is in the Australian Aria Hall of Fame. A record producer, he brings great guitar playing and a handful of Little River Band songs that made him world famous with over 30 million records sold.

It also earned a string of awards such as “Guitar Player of the Year” in the US and the band being awarded in to the Australian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He paved the way for many new Australian bands and musicians.

Pip Joyce has worked with all the greats Glenn Shorrock, Brian Cadd and Doug Parkinson - and is a fine singer and guitar player. He played with Shorrock for the past 12 years and recently worked on the APIA Rock Tour.

Jo Imbroll has played on many great Australian albums, including Ian Moss and Brian Cadd. As bass player and vocalist, he is the foundation of what makes the Marty Rose Band rock.

Peter Fearn has played drums for Chuck Berry, Colleen Hewitt, Daryl Sommers, Wilbur Wilde and The Paul McKay Sound. Tickets are $50 per person. The doors, bar and beer garden will open at 6pm with the show starting at 7.30pm. A light supper will be provided at interval.
